A career in real estate was probably always going to be a major part of my life. As at the tender age of 19, whilst still living at home, I decided to buy my first rental. While collecting the rent money every Tuesday evening, armed with my rent book and a manufactured air of confidence, I formulated a plan. A plan that would have me earning a substantial passive income by the time I decided to stop work. That plan has been with me ever since.
Being an investor from such a young age has certainly helped me with helping others reach their real estate goals. My real estate career started in 1985, when employed by a local building company, selling mainly to first home buyers and investors.
1990 led me to a major local real estate company selling residential property. After a short stint overseas I returned to Hamilton and started with Challenge Realty which was later bought by LJ Hooker. Seven years of open homes finally got the better of me, so in 1997 a move to commercial sales led me to selling investment blocks of flats.
A flats owner myself, I believe in what I sell. An investor for over 30 years, and a marketer of real estate for over 20 years has certainly given me the experience to help others achieve success.
